Glenn Jones joined the firm in 1965. He is primarily engaged in the practice of tort litigation defense. He defends numerous clients involved in products liability, construction defects, commercial liability, premises liability toxic torts and transportation liability. His practice also includes insurance coverage questions, lenders liability and employment law liability.
Mr. Jones has defended clients for the Barber Law Firm since 1965 in courts throughout the State of Arkansas, including the federal courts. His extensive trial practice has involved over 300 trials to verdicts. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Arkansas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the Pulaski County Bar Association and is a fellow of the Arkansas Bar Foundation. He is the state membership chairman for the International Association of Defense Counsel and has been a member of the House of Delegates of the Arkansas Bar Association and chairman of several committees.
Mr. Jones received his LLB/JD degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law at Fayetteville in 1963, and received his BA in History from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1959. He was employed with the Internal Revenue Service as an Estate and Gift Tax Examiner from 1963 to 1965, when he joined the Barber Law Firm.
Mr. Jones is a retired Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. He served 30 years in the Army Reserve, including three years as commanding officer of 431st Civil Affairs Company (now Battalion) in Little Rock, Arkansas. He received two U.S. Army commendation medals, as well as the Humanitarian Service Medal. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Little Rock Jaycees. He has also served as President of the Arkansas Tennis Association and Treasurer of the Southern Tennis Association.
