Bill Edwards joined the firm in 1981. He was admitted to practice in the State of Arkansas in 1980. Following a one year clerkship, he entered private practice and currently concentrates in the areas of personal injury defense, commercial litigation, product liability defense, and insurance defense of first and third party claims. Mr. Edwards practices in state and federal courts in all areas of the State of Arkansas and is admitted to practice before the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Edwards has extensive experience in the preparation and trial with those issues including, but not limited to involving products liability, toxic tort, first party claims against insurance carriers, nursing home, construction and commercial litigation. His reported decisions include Zeno v. GM Truck and Coach, 844 F.Supp. 1340 (E.D. Ark. 1992); aff’d 9 F.3d 115 (8th Cir. 1993); Transcontinental Ins. Co. v. Edwards, 139 F.3d. 1185 (8th Cir. 1998), Shoaf v. American Way Transport, Inc., 47 Fed Appx. 780; 2002 U.S. Appl, Lexis 2002; GMAC v. Union Bank & Trust, 329 F3d 594, (8th Cir. Ark., 2003) Koch v. Northport, 361 Ark. 192, 205 S.W.3d 754 (2005) and Rustenhaven v. American Airlines, 351 F.3d 874 (2003) .
Mr. Edwards is a member of the Pulaski County, the Arkansas and American Bar Associations, the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel, the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.
Representative clients include GMAC, LLC, Hanover Insurance Company, CNA, Zurich North American, Cincinnati Insurance Companies, and Travelers Insurance Company. Recent litigation includes trials on behalf of American Airlines, General Motors Corporation, truck accidents and the defense of nursing homes.
