How To Read CGL Insurance Policy

An Employer’s Guide to Crisis Management

As part of our centennial celebration, the firm’s employment law practice group presented a free continuing legal education seminar for HR directors, business owners, managers and attorneys.

The aftermath created by a disgruntled employee can damage a company’s reputation and bottom line.  This fact-filled seminar addressed common pitfalls, remedies, and resources regarding employment law.  Topics included Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Equal Pay Act, Title VII, 1981, Workers’ Compensation, Department of Labor and Equal Opportunity Commission processes and other helpful resources.

Construction Law: A Blueprint For Managing Risks

Also as part of our centennial celebration, the firm’s construction law section presented a continuing legal education seminar on the dynamically changing construction law environment. Recent court decisions have left construction companies more exposed than ever to liability resulting from faulty workmanship.  This seminar addressed major changes in construction law that are likely to significantly impact construction firms. Topics included: how to avoid being sued, what to do if you are sued, a review of recent changes in Arkansas statutory lien law that affect contractors’ legal rights and how recent changes to AIA contracts impact construction companies.
