Mr. Smith joined the firm in 2008. He concentrates his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, personal injury defense and insurance defense.
Mr. Smith received his B.A. in Political Science from Ouachita Baptist University in 1990. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 1997. While in law school Mr. Smith co-founded a community outreach league which won the J. C. Penney Golden Rule Award and is still a vital component of his law school today. While working as a lobbyist for the American Bar Association’s Law Student Division, he and his colleagues successfully lobbied for the historic right to argue the issue of in-school interest exemptions on student loans directly to the United States Congress. He was one of only three laws students in the nation to sit as a voting member in the ABA’s House of Delegates. For his efforts Mr. Smith was awarded the Silver Key for distinguished service to the ABA.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Smith served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Sixth Judicial District. Mr. Smith was a Division Chief within the prosecutors office, where he received considerable litigation experience and tried over one-hundred and twenty cases to juries.
Mr. Smith is admitted to practice before all Arkansas state courts as well as the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.
He is a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
