Mr. Cherry has practiced law for over 40 years, concentrating his practice in civil litigation. He has handled well in excess of 100 jury trials involving claims of personal injury, wrongful death, toxic tort, product liability, ROPS, motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents, medical and dental negligence, premises liability, construction site accidents, and aviation accidents. He also regularly litigates issues of insurance coverage, lender liability, wrongful discharge, and testamentary capacity.
Mr. Cherry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwestern at Memphis (Rhodes College). He completed the requirements for an LLB in 1966 at the University of Arkansas. Mr. Cherry then served two years active duty with the U.S. Army, continuing his service in the Army Reserve reaching the rank of Captain. Following completion of his active military obligation, he clerked for Chief Justice Carlton Harris of the Arkansas Supreme Court. Coming full circle, Mr. Cherry later served as Special Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Mr. Cherry came to the firm in August of 1970. He is admitted to practice before the Arkansas Supreme Court, the U.S District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Cherry is a member of the American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, and the Pulaski County Bar Association. He is a fellow of the Arkansas Bar Association. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Henry Woods Inn of Court, and the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel.
