Little Rock, Ark. The Barber Law Firm celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2010 by founding the Barber Law Firm Century Fund, a major endowment focused on the future and designed to give back to the communities the firm serves for the next 100 years. After making an inaugural donation to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Diabetes Research Working Group in 2010, the Barber Law Firm Century Fund is now asking for nominations from deserving nonprofit organizations to become the firm's designated nonprofit partner for 2011.
The Barber Law Firm Century Fund accepts nominations for and from nonprofits statewide before choosing a designated nonprofit to contribute to and partner with each year. Qualifying 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizations that are either based in Arkansas or make a significant impact in the lives of Arkansans are eligible for consideration for the Barber Law Firm Century Fund's 2011 contribution and partnership.
Our communities benefit and we are all impacted in one way or another by the work of the many outstanding nonprofit organizations in Arkansas, says Bill Edwards, partner at the Barber Law Firm. "We're proud that the Barber Law Firm Century Fund will allow our firm to give these groups the support they need to continue to make a difference in the lives of the people they serve."
Nomination forms, to be completed and submitted online, will be accepted from June 1 to August 1, 2011. Nomination guidelines, details and forms are available at www.barberlawfirm.com.
The Barber Law Firm Century Fund will produce approximately $8 million in charitable contributions over the next century with total annual distributions of approximately $250,000 by 2110. The design of the fund is simple enough: The Barber Law Firm has committed to making an annual contribution to the fund for the next century. Each year, the fund will distribute a portion of its annual earnings to designated charitable partners. As the firm continues adding to the principal, it expects the fund to grow steadily, generating greater and greater impact each year.
